Who do I contact to participate in WORKshift?
WORKshift is available to organizations across Calgary and the surrounding region. If your organization is interested in participating in a formal telework program, please contact us by email. Include your name and position, your organization’s name and how you heard about the initiative. We will return emails within two working days.
 
Who is qualified to participate in WORKshift?
Participants will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. A range of industries are represented, and participants vary in size. All participating organizations must be located in Calgary or surrounding region.
 
What if my company won’t participate? Can I as an individual?
Individuals who decide to participate in WORKshift may obtain a user name and password through Robyn Bews. These licenses allow users to track their commuting choices and record their greenhouse gas reductions.

How much does participation cost?
Participation in the WORKshift program is absolutely free.

Can organizations outside of Calgary participate in WORKshift?
Currently, only companies in Calgary and the Calgary Regional Partnership are eligible to participate in WORKshift.

Are there tax breaks associated with telework programs?
In some cases, telecommuting can have income tax implications. Follow this link for further details:

Does the Government of Canada currently have policy or policies associated with telecommuting?
Although the Canadian Federal Government has not followed the US Federal Government’s lead in implementing a formal internal telework program that allows Canadian civil servants to integrate telecommuting into their various agencies, programs like WORKshift and ecoMobility demonstrate a commitment to growing the practice.
